Paintwork & Gelcoat Treatment
At FibreCraft, we provide comprehensive painting services. Upon arrival at our workshop, the lifeboat’s exterior is completely stripped: skates are removed, reflective tape is peeled off, and grablines are cut. The entire exterior of the lifeboat is then sanded down to its fiberglass substrate.
Paintwork
An epoxy based coat will be applied to the complete external of the lifeboat. A fire-retardant additive is added to the epoxy based coat to comply with SOLAS requirement.
A two part international orange poly urethane coat is then applied, as a final coat with ultra-violet retardant additive for good and long lasting colour retention.
Gelcoat Treatment
Apart from carrying a full paint works on lifeboat, we at FibreCraft can also carry out gelcoat treatment. But there are limitations to this treatment (please check with our service manager).
Gelcoat treatment and polishing can bring back the shine to faded gelcoat surfaces and protect the external fiberglass lifeboat from further UV related degeneration.
